There is a man under the bridge a couple blocks from where I live
Filthy pair of kicks and you can see all of his ribs
I feel the urge to serve today but I can't really give
Cuz I just left the crib inside I got a couple kids
But I stopped the car to sit chat about the things he has
He said I ain't got nothing but the clothes that's on my back
He said I feel more free than I think I ever have

I said damn I often think that truly I'm the man
Cuz I've collected so much treasure I can't hold it in my hands
It's been supply and demand but at times I do feel low down
Awakened by the fact I'm buried by the things I own now
They say you do not own possessions
I guess that be true
Cuz if you slip and lose your grip
They end up owning you
I don't know how to feel so I just stare into the clues
And wonder deep inside exactly what you gonna do
If I give you this money will you save it up for food
Or blow it all on booze I wouldn't judge you if you do
This life is hard enough to go it sober that is true
So I enjoy a sip or two it helps to get me through
But if I give you this money would you aim for something big
Turn it all around and give the world a couple gifts
Make the world a better place to live and exist
