Turin Brakes

Turin Brakes je britská indie folk rocková kapela založená v roce 1999 v Londýně. Skupinu tvoří Olly Knights (zpěv, kytara) a Gale Paridjanian (kytara, zpěv), kteří se znají již od dětství. Kapela je známá svým akustickým zvukem, harmonickými vokály a introspektivními texty, které často reflektují osobní i společenská témata.

Debutové album Turin Brakes „The Optimist LP“ vyšlo v roce 2001 a rychle si získalo uznání jak od kritiků, tak od posluchačů. Album obsahovalo hity „Underdog (Save Me)“ a „Emergency 72“, které se staly oblíbenými na britské indie scéně. „The Optimist LP“ bylo nominováno na Mercury Prize a pomohlo kapele získat mezinárodní povědomí.

V roce 2003 vydali Turin Brakes své druhé album „Ether Song“, které obsahovalo úspěšný singl „Pain Killer (Summer Rain)“. Album se umístilo na čtvrtém místě britské hitparády a potvrdilo jejich status jedné z předních indie kapel své doby. Následující alba, jako „Jackinabox“ (2005) a „Dark on Fire“ (2007), pokračovala v jejich úspěchu.

Mezi jejich novější alba patří „We Were Here“ (2013), „Lost Property“ (2016) a „Invisible Storm“ (2018). Každé z těchto alb ukazuje jejich neustálou snahu posouvat hudební hranice a oslovovat nové generace posluchačů.
