Sitting back I scratched my head
Thinking about the life I lead
Remembering what my mama told me
And all them things my daddy said
At five or six it was in one ear and out the other

I sit and ponder every day

Yeah, they troubled me at times
Smoked a little maryjane
And I drank a ton of moonshine
Every now and then
I find myself off the beaten path
Looking in my rearview
I control my own wrath
I drank by myself on many lonely midnight rides
But what you'll never take for me hot is my daddy's pride
Well, it made me who I am today
Country pride I'm proud to say
Every step I take today
I think I might just stop and pray
And thank the Lord for my daddy mama sister my girl
Without my daddy's pride struggle in this crazy world
Simple living now no worries not a hiccup
Just give me my girls some cold beer and a spit cup
Taking long walks with a six pack in my hand
Reflection in the lake I hardly recognize this man
I'm going to find myself again though
