Boston

Boston je americká rocková kapela založená v roce 1975 v Bostonu, Massachusetts, Tomem Scholzem. Scholz, multiinstrumentalista a zakladatel, hrál většinu nástrojů na debutovém albu kapely z roku 1976, které nese název Boston. Původní hlavní zpěvák byl Brad Delp, ale složení kapely se v průběhu let měnilo. I přes časté změny v sestavě si kapela udržela úspěch a stala se jednou z nejprodávanějších rockových kapel na světě.

Boston dosáhl komerčního úspěchu zejména v 70. a 80. letech. Mezi jejich nejznámější skladby patří "More Than a Feeling", "Peace of Mind", "Foreplay/Long Time", "Don't Look Back" a "Amanda". Debutové album prodalo více než 17 milionů kopií v USA, což jej činí jedním z nejprodávanějších debutových alb v historii. Druhé album, Don't Look Back, prodalo dalších sedm milionů kopií.

Kapela vydala celkem šest studiových alb během kariéry trvající více než 50 let. I když se vydávání nových nahrávek zpomalilo po 80. letech, kapela pokračovala v živých vystoupeních. Po smrti původního zpěváka Brada Delpa v roce 2007 se kapela přeskupila a na pódium přišli noví zpěváci jako Michael Sweet a Tommy DeCarlo.

Navzdory osobním a právním problémům, včetně sporu s nahrávací společností CBS, se Boston podařilo udržet svou přítomnost na rockové scéně. V roce 2013 vydali své poslední album Life, Love & Hope, které obsahovalo vokály několika členů kapely včetně zesnulého Brada Delpa. Kapela byla také oceněna za svůj inovativní zvuk, který kombinoval prvky hard rocku, arena rocku a progresivního rocku.

V dnešní době, i přes to, že kapela od roku 2017 nekoncertovala, Tom Scholz nadále pracuje na nové hudbě a plánuje vydání sedmého studiového alba. Přestože nebyly oznámeny žádné konkrétní termíny, Scholz vyjádřil zájem pokračovat v hudební tvorbě a živých vystoupeních.
