It's a shame
That the dolphins say more than we do
My heart breaks
In all the sea glass I see you
Something's been up with you
And I'm afraid to find out
I love you till the death
But I don't really like you now

Been a drifter since I came up out the womb
I was out of place
Never been a fixture
Known for passing through the truth
I leave it up to fate
Take the jump cause I start feeling stuck
And need a change of pace
Saying yes to plans
That on the surface might seem made in haste
But what's a waste
When you take every lesson learned
And tweak direction
Good or bad I keep my faith in something
Bigger sent in
I'd be lying if I said that I don't tend to question
But the will of what's in motion
Isn't mine to mess with
Knowing that I could be forcing an outcome
Attaching to questions of how come
Sometimes the point is there ain't one
Somewhere there's something you're saved from
Maybe what you didn't see
Would change your whole perception
So take your vantage as advantage
Head up keep it stepping

It's a shame
That the dolphins say more than we do
My heart breaks
In all the sea glass I see you
Something's been up with you
And I'm afraid to find out
I love you till the death
But I don't really like you now

Maybe Hawaii is the only happy place
Left on earth that I still haven't found
I guess that's why I'm travel bound
And stranded when my map is out
If I could catch those feelings
I'd throw em like a cap and gown
These days I don't carry anything
You can pat me down
Someday when I'm no longer couch surfing
Through the months
And both of us get washed up on the shore
Like every human does
I will always be complete through
This sea of deep blue
But it's a shame the dolphins
Say more than we do

Every song that I wrote about drowning
They taught me to sing in the rain
Sinking into the inevitability
That I can live with the pain
Fixing up all of my injuries
When I remember the whip of the waves
And I guess that I'm here for this newest beginning
But what if a glimmer remains
This is a shame

It's a shame
That the dolphins say more than we do
My heart breaks
In all the sea glass I see you
Something's been up with you
And I'm afraid to find out
I love you till the death
But I don't really like you now
