He wakes up before the sun
And drinks his coffee black as the sky
And buttons up his shirt
Ballcap with yesterday's dirt
Ain't even dry
His family's owned that farm since his daddy was born
But he knows that it only takes one storm
So, he prays for the rain
And asks the Lord for just enough to feed his family
