Sirenia

Sirenia je norská gothic metalová kapela ze Stavangeru, kterou v roce 2001 založil Morten Veland. Kapela je známá svým melodickým zvukem, který kombinuje syntetizátory, zkreslené kytary a vokály v různých polohách, včetně ženských vokálů, mužských death vokálů a čistých mužských vokálů. Texty skladeb se často zabývají lidskou existencí, emocemi a duševními stavy.

V roce 2001, po odchodu z kapely Tristania, založil Morten Veland Sirenia a začal pracovat na debutovém albu At Sixes and Sevens. Po neúspěšném hledání vhodné zpěvačky pro nahrávání ve Francii byla najata session zpěvačka Fabienne Gondamin. Po vydání debutu kapela pokračovala v rozvoji svého zvuku a v roce 2004 vydala album An Elixir for Existence se zpěvačkou Henriette Bordvik.

V roce 2007 Sirenia představila nové album Nine Destinies and a Downfall, které znamenalo příchod nové zpěvačky Moniky Pedersen. Navzdory úspěchu alba Monika opustila kapelu kvůli hudebním neshodám. Následně byla jako zpěvačka angažována Ailyn, která se stala hlasem kapely na albech jako The 13th Floor a The Enigma of Life. Během tohoto období Sirenia dosáhla širšího uznání, zvláště po turné v Americe a Evropě.

V roce 2016 došlo k dalším změnám v sestavě, když Ailyn kapelu opustila a byla nahrazena Emmanuelle Zoldan, která s Sirenia spolupracovala již dříve jako členka sboru. S Zoldan na palubě kapela vydala album Dim Days of Dolor a pokračovala v tvorbě s albem Arcane Astral Aeons. Toto období bylo charakterizováno intenzivním turné a rozšířením fanouškovské základny po celém světě.

Nejnovější alba, Riddles, Ruins & Revelations a 1977, představují stylový posun k více komerčnímu zvuku, který kombinuje tradiční symfonický metal s prvky synth-popu a rocku inspirovaného 70. a 80. léty. Tento nový směr ukazuje, že Sirenia nadále experimentuje a vyvíjí svůj hudební styl, přičemž zůstává věrná svým kořenům.
