Matt Redman

Matt Redman, celým jménem Matthew James Redman, je anglický křesťanský vůdce chval, zpěvák a autor, narozený 14. února 1974. Známý je především díky své dvakrát oceněné Grammy písni 10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord), kterou napsal společně s Jonasem Myrinem. Tato píseň dosáhla v roce 2012 prvního místa na americkém Billboard Christian Songs chart.

Redman se narodil ve Watfordu v Anglii, ale většinu svého dětství strávil v Chorleywood. Po konverzi ke křesťanství ve věku deseti let se začal aktivně účastnit života v anglikánské církvi St Andrew's v Hertfordshire, kde se naučil hrát na kytaru. Svou kariéru vůdce chval zahájil ve dvaceti letech a v roce 1993 pomohl založit křesťanské hnutí Soul Survivor spolu se svým pastorem Mikem Pilavachim.

V roce 2002 se Matt Redman přestěhoval do Brightonu, kde se zapojil do nové církve The Point. Později se přestěhoval do Atlanty v Georgii, kde pomáhal založit Passion City Church s Louiem Gigliem a Chrisem Tomlinem. Během své kariéry nahrál řadu alb a jeho práce byla oceněna mnoha cenami, včetně třinácti ocenění Dove Award.

Kromě hudební kariéry je Redman také autorem a napsal několik knih o křesťanské chvále. Společně se svou manželkou Beth napsal knihu Blessed Be Your Name, aby inspiroval lidi k důvěře v Boha. Přestože čelil osobním výzvám, včetně náročného dětství a pozdějšího odhalení zneužívání, jeho práce a vliv v oblasti křesťanské hudby a chvály jsou nepopiratelné.
