Jungle Rot

Jungle Rot je americká death metalová kapela pocházející z Kenoshy ve Wisconsinu, která vznikla v roce 1992. Původně byla založena jako vedlejší projekt členy thrash metalové skupiny Prisoner, Jimem Hartem a Joe Thomasem. Název Jungle Rot odkazuje na kožní infekci vyskytující se v tropických oblastech. Skupina si rychle získala pozornost díky svým prvním demům, která byla ovlivněna kapelami jako S.O.D., Madball nebo Bolt Thrower.

V roce 1993 se k Jungle Rot připojil kytarista Dave Matrise a kapela zahájila seriózní hudební kariéru. Jejich druhé demo Skin the Living z roku 1995 zaznamenalo úspěch a přitáhlo pozornost nezávislého labelu Pure Death Records, který vydal jejich první album. Skutečný průlom pro kapelu přišel s druhým albem Slaughter the Weak vydaným v roce 1997.

V roce 2005 došlo k zásadnímu posílení sestavy, když se ke kapele přidali basista James Genenz a kytarista Geoff Bub. Toto nové složení přineslo kapelu na novou úroveň a umožnilo jim vydávat alba jako Warzone v roce 2006 a později What Horrors Await pod hlavičkou Napalm Records v roce 2009. Kapela také intenzivně koncertovala, mimo jiné se skupinami jako Deicide, The Black Dahlia Murder a Cattle Decapitation.

V roce 2011 Jungle Rot podepsali smlouvu s Victory Records a vydali album Kill on Command. Další úspěšné album Terror Regime následovalo v roce 2013, po kterém kapela pokračovala v koncertování s dalšími metalovými legendami. V roce 2018 vydali své desáté studiové album, které neslo jejich vlastní jméno Jungle Rot, a pokračovali v turné po Evropě i Severní Americe.

V roce 2022 oznámila kapela vydání svého jedenáctého alba A Call to Arms. Jungle Rot zůstává aktivní na hudební scéně a pokračuje ve své charakteristické kombinaci groove a death metalu, přičemž jejich texty se často zabývají tématy války, smrti a korupce. Kapela si stále udržuje svou energii a odhodlání, což potvrzuje jejich dlouhodobá přítomnost na metalové scéně.
