Josh Turner

Josh Turner, celým jménem Joshua Otis Turner, je americký country zpěvák a skladatel, narozený 20. listopadu 1977 v Hannah, Jižní Karolína. Svou hudební kariéru začal v roce 2001 svým debutem na Grand Ole Opry, kde vystoupil s písní Long Black Train, inspirovanou Hankem Williamsem. Tato píseň se stala průlomovým hitem jeho kariéry a vedla ke smlouvě s MCA Nashville Records v roce 2003.

Debutové album Joshe Turnera Long Black Train vyšlo v roce 2003, přičemž titulní skladba se udržela na country hitparádách více než čtyřicet týdnů. Jeho druhé album Your Man z roku 2006 přineslo dva hity číslo jedna: Your Man a Would You Go with Me. Tento úspěch upevnil jeho pozici na country scéně a album rychle získalo zlatou a následně platinovou certifikaci.

Turner pokračoval v úspěšné kariéře s albem Everything Is Fine v roce 2007, které obsahovalo hit Firecracker. V roce 2010 vydal album Haywire, z něhož pochází jeho největší hit Why Don't We Just Dance, který se udržel čtyři týdny na prvním místě hitparády. Toto období bylo pro Turnera velmi plodné, kdy se jeho hudba dostávala do popředí country žánru.

Rok 2012 přinesl další úspěšné album Punching Bag, jehož singl Time Is Love byl vyhlášen největším country hitem roku podle Billboard Year-End. V roce 2017 vydal album Deep South, které debutovalo na prvním místě amerického Top Country Albums Chart. Od té doby se Josh Turner věnoval také projektům s gospelovou tematikou, jako je album I Serve a Savior z roku 2018.

V roce 2024 vydal své desáté studiové album This Country Music Thing, čímž potvrdil svou dlouhodobou spolupráci s MCA Nashville. Josh Turner je známý nejen svým hlubokým barytonem a hity, ale také svým osobním životem, kdy se svým manželkou Jennifer Ford, kterou potkal na univerzitě Belmont, má čtyři syny.
